According to Wikipedia, "MetroWest is a cluster of cities and towns lying west of Boston and east of Worcester, in the US state of Massachusetts. The name was coined in the 1980s by a local newspaper."

Sadly there is a large segment of the Boston area Twitter user population that has no idea where MetroWest is. They continue to schedule social media events in places like Cambridge, guaranteeing that attendees who live outside the 128 corridor will need to leave their homes or places of employment 4 hours prior to the event if they have any hope of arriving on time and spend their hard-earned income on overpriced parking garages.

But not anymore! The MetroWest Tweetup is a monthly event that was designed to make social gatherings convenient for those of us who *GASP* don't live in Boston or Cambridge (I know, it's hard to imagine isn't it??). Attendance is mandatory for all MetroWesters who tweet, and optional for those who live outside the area.

We'd love to have some non-MetroWesters attend. Come see what life in the suburbs is like! I promise we have paved roads and everything.
